Default Jump Starting

I decided to keep the S off the road over Christmas so I have been starting the car once a week and left in running in the garage for 10-15 minutes. The time has now come that the battery is as flat as a pancake, alarm doesn't work and the dashborad doesn't light up.

For my sins I have a diesel Peugeot 307 as my run about, I have jump started cars in the past but not the S, what damge could it cause by jump starting the car? By the way, the battery was replaced by Honda in September 2009.

Thanks

No damage at all. Just follow the instructions in the manual.

Why do people think that jump starting will damage the car.

Connect the jump lead's to positive first then negative to prevent accidently shorting out the electric's

I have in the dim and distance past blown the ecu by not doing the above

To prevent the battery going flat when not being used , I use a Optimate trickle charger ( from a Honda motor bike dealer ) that come's with the lead's to allow easy connection

I disagree.

Aircon should be run at least once a month or the seals and pipes corrode.

I run mine once a month giving the engine varying revs and letting the engine warm up fully.

Why would running the engine without moving the car be any worse than sitting in a traffic jam?

I also move the tyres round when I start the car.

It isn't, but then again both are pretty bad, because every time you start the S without taking it for a drive, it dies a little inside, thinking you don't love it any more. Or something.
