Default Just crashed my S :-(

After being the very happy owner of an '02 S for the last 16 days (yes, just sixteen), I've just managed to spin it exiting a roundabout going onto a slip road to join a motorway. Result is severly crumpled offside rear, and some scuffing on front bumber and offside wheel arch. And one very unhappy Ed.

So, need to get it fixed. It's been taken to a repair center approved by my insurance company, however I've just been told it should go to a Honda approved repair center as well, which having just spoken to the place it's gone, it's not. Is this a problem? Having never had an accident before, I'm pretty new to all this insurance dealing and repairs and stuff. Any tips would be very gratefully received.

Thanks, Ed.

Sorry to hear about your smash. I smashed my S2000 up last year, having only had it 6 weeks or so, so don't worry, you're not the only one to do this.

When my car was picked up, I insisted it go to a Honda dealer and that they do the work in their own bodyshop. My insurer at the time, Tesco, were more than happy to do this. It took three weeks for me to get my car back. I couldn't tell it had been damaged when I got it back.

Did you get any pictures? The Carper will gladly be adding you to his mishap list I've no doubt.

Sorry can't help with your question, but glad to hear you are ok. Least its only your car and pride that are crumpled. You'll be back on the road soon enough

Commiserations, Ed

I did the self-same thing, joining the M6 at J13 in the teeming rain about 18 months ago. I ended up going the wrong way up the sliproad and hitting the armco -

So leaving it where it is (ie. not Honda approved repair centre) should be okay. Does this have any negative effect on warranties?

Sorry for all the questions.... Still a bit

Get it to a Honda place, or you may have probs with the warrantee, if in 2 years time the car starts to rust away etc.

A real shame, me smashed my car up too, she went to the scrapheap in the sky!
