We angled the bottom feet so they were just above the bumper and therefore the bike wasn't sat so high on the car.
I found it always slipped down from here. Maybe witht he top straps doubled up it would work better. Time to try another combination!

And the benefit of having it on top is that you can open the boot with it attached!

Apart from Chrispayze's all of the cars pictured should really be running light boards...

I know someone who was stopped and fined by the plod because his rear lights were obscured when his bike rack was mounted...

Another benefit of running all the feet on the boot lid!

I was in a car that got stopped once, and they were more worried about the number plate (for ANPR). Didn't even mention the light cluster obscuration.

They are defo the best made bike rack out there. We sell them in the bike shop i work in and have had a play on my S. They also make a solo which is the 1 peice with movable padded feet and is alot lighter.

Chris,

Just looking at your pics and I can see the feet are deforming the boot lid. I'm thinking of buying the saris for my S but scared it's going to dent crapp out of the car.
I go to Dalby a lot, so need something that's going to be safe whilst I'm hammering along on the pot-holded roads of North Yorkshire.

The front foot does slightly, but it always springs back. The tension of the straps only barely moves it. I've not had any problem with permanent deformation. I think the boot lid frame stops it going any further. You could probably move it further forward but then you couldn't open the boot with the rack fitted.

By the way, the Bones 3 has two front feet, which would halve the stress on the boot lid. When the Bones 2 is fitted with all three feet on the boot lid, only one bike position is available, because it doesn't 'stick out' as far from the back of the car. In hindsight, I'd go for the Bones 3 for both of these reasons.
