The Knowledge...
and Im not talking about Taxi drivers here.
Cool, new 2002 model information looks promising I thought, with that the phone rang, my local Honda guy had given me a courtesy call. Now I had test drove the machine about 2 months previous and had 2 minor gripes with blind spots and the back plastic window effort, the Honda dealer agreed and said it took some shine off of what was still a great car.
Anyway's like I was saying, the Honda dealer phones me and says had I thought anymore about the car, do I want another test drive etc. I spoke to him at length about my issues regarding the rear view plastic and blind spot but alas he seemed completely oblivious to the problem this time and was very keen to get me back in the showroom.
And then, whilst asking him about the actual 2002 model (for which I had seen the pics) he said he had no information on the new car and that he had only just started recieving his quota of 2001 models he was available to sell. I did point out the new glass window and speakers and pedal but he seemed oblivious to this, he gave me the Honda UK phone number and asked if I could call him back if I had anymore news.
Needless to say Honda UK were also at a loss to give me anymore information about the car change or poss new price.
Oh yeah, and I had an S2000 siteing in Corringham in Essex a few weeks ago, anyone here? It was silver but thats it (I was in shock). I watched it coming towards me thinking "nah! its gotta be a Miata or someting, OMG its a stook!" If it was Blue though it could have put a dampner on my day.
Often.

Not via the dealers we aint!.
Just spoke to Belgium dealer (a knowledgable chap) he has no price information as yet but expects the lead time to be put back if I want a 2002 model. Nothing definate yet but he is going to find out what he can and fax me the official changes anyway so I can decide if I want '02. I will wait, but not for too long.
buying a car should not be this tricky, at least it aint no ordinary car.
