Koni Shock fitting
Hi all, I've got some Koni STR.T's to fit.
Supplier says I should take the collar off the original shock and fit to the new shocks to take the standard springs.
Can this be done? I thought those collars were welded in place.
Car in bits at a garage, and need to notify them quickly, or I'll be getting charged garage space
TIA.

Hi, did mine recently, we hit the wrong bit for a few attempts before finding that the collar sits on another ridge that sets in the height, even with these errors 40 minutes from wheels off the ground till they hit the deck again.
I’ve bought the same shocks and was surprised to find the same thing. I’ve yet to get around to trying again. Won’t be doing it in 45 mins though as I want to paint the spring perches to match the shocks! Will be an over winter job...
