Default Lambda sensor

I was driving home on Sat night just past and the engine management light came on.

Turns out I need a new lambda sensor. The local garage has quoted 240 for a Honda part. I’ve asked them to get a quote for an aftermarket part… NGK I think.

Depending on the price difference should I go with the aftermarket part or am I best to stay with the Honda part?

Thanks for any help.

Thanks for your help guys.

It’s the front lambda sensor bank 1 that has gone on my S (2006)

I checked www.ecolambda.co.uk, there is a big price difference depending on year.

Why is there such a big difference in price? Are the two sensor same?

I just got a cheap lambda sensor set for my Dad's Celica. Had to send them back in this case, the heater circuit threw an error because of too low resistance from cold. I've got some denso one's on the way instead, which where twice the price, but include the whole wiring and connector, and should be reet as I trust denso. I think when the time comes for the s2k, I won't buy at the bottom end of the scale.

You can get cheapo ones for around £20 that you have to splice etc but the one I linked is a direct replacement with the right wires and connector already on that others have used on this forum so I guess I'll see how I get on...
