If per chance you may be somewhat of a petrol head, I have a recommendation for you.
Last Friday morning at 6am myself and my brother left my house in Sussex in his 1939 Bentley 4.25 litre. We drove to Newhaven and caught a ferry to Dieppe. The ferry was filled with cars ranging from Ferraris ,Porsches, TVR's, Caterhams to old cars like Porsche Speedsters and of course our old girl
We left Dieppe and headed in convoy to Le Mans, a journey of some 250 miles. The entire journey down there was like a cannonball run with cars of every type, moving and parked in cafes coupled with the crowds of locals who came to see them all. Our claxon horn went down a storm and every car passing us blew horns and waved. (A Bentley going to Le Mans is a spiritual thing ), bikers gave us the thumbs up etc etc.
We got to the circuit where we were supposed to camp and realised the sheer scale of the thing. I had no idea it attracts some 650,000 people of all nationalities...most camping...including us It was very odd seeing sights like a 996 Turbo (
The reason I didn't put any photos on is that they are useless !!...I did the videoing and my brother did the stills which I've yet to see. Below therefore are a few stills from my video camera...
