Default leaky boot?

Ok so ive stripped out my boot as im about to fit my sound system and am trying to tackle the problem of this leak a few people seem to have. I cant seem to find anything on the search but could someone confirm it is the "2 black plastic circle thingys" I have to fill with silicone sealant? or is there another type of vent somehwere? Any pics would be greatfully appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hmm not sure, have you ever had any body work done?

Chris had a leak which turned out to be water running down the roof via somewhere odd into the boot.....

Nope no repair work been done, i shall check the seal thou. I remember seeing a thread that made it seem like a few S owners have this problem. A vent in the boot which needs to be blocked?!?!

I dont wanna put my sub in till ive sorted it or else it'll rot the MDF.

The leak is at the bottom of the boot, underneath the jack etc

Thanks

When I lifted the tools box out I noticed water, assumed it was just a spill or something from prev owner as carpet all dry, will chk today if it is wet again

Just cos the water is at the bottom, doesn't mean that's where the leak is, it might just be where the water is settling.

Most leaks are from the top down - its very rare for water to manage to get in underneath something

I had this on my S (V-99) if you take out all the boot carpet/trim, which takes 5 mins there is a vent about where the number plate is.

I ran bathroom/slicone sealant around the sides and lower edges and no problems since. The vent works OK.
The original Honda gasket just collapses with time it's foam I think.

S'easy honest.

Hello Guys,

I had this problem as well, as previously mentioned - there is a fairly large vent on the rear panel of the boot space that exits just above the rear number plate panel. The original foam seal starts to leak - a smear of silicone sealant around the three sides of the vent will cure the problem in no time at all. My car is an MY00 with 33K miles and is now bone dry !
