Default Leaky lights

Had to drive in the rain today, much to my annoyance and noticed that my off-side headlight and near-side tail light have a condensation problem.

Anyone had this before, and if so, is it an easy fix or am I looking at a couple of replacement lights (Bloody expensive!)

Cheers

wow what a useful reply.

the answer to almost any headlamp misting problem is to prise the lamp apart, remove all existing sealant and replace with newer, fresh sealant.

it can be time consuming removing the old sealant or you can strike it lucky and the lot comes off in one.

Or do my quick fix, remove the 4" round rubber cap off the rear of the headlamp until it clears (usually 100% in 10 days)

The rear, remove from car, use a hairdryer to clear as much as possible then leave on top of a towel on a radiator over night.

This is solving the problem and not the cause so it may return, the 100% fix is as mentioned, splitting lamps by putting in the oven, then re-sealing - not easy, days work even when you know what you are doing.
Plenty of posts with full info if you search 'headlamp condensation'

Lloyd being helpful for a change!

I had a similar problem with an aftermarket lamp for my old civic,i got rid of the condensation by taking the lamp off, removing the bulbs and putting it in the oven to evaporate the moisture out of it.Dont bake it tho or you can leave it near a hot radiator for a couple of hours if ya want.I let it cool and put a thin layer of silicon around the lense and lamp body seam.Had the car for a year after and the prob never reoccured.Maybe that would help

And if you can't be arsed with stripping the front end down and getting beaten up with a rolling pin by the missus when she finds plastic blobs in the oven just do it my way!

Heating the sealant carefully with a hot air gun ought to re-seal it.
