I have often wondered if there was a way of saving a long post if you are interrupted part way through?

My worst experience was a long travel post with a number of pictures, which took almost an hour to put together, which I would have saved as I progressed, and just as I completed it the broadband line collapsed!

Run Notepad and cut and paste what you type into it.

That is what I do.

I wouldn't use notepad as you mentioned that you have images as well which won't be saved in notepad.
Word as already mentioned above OR the easiest imho hit CTRL+A on your keyboard (mark all) and then CTRL+C (copy).

Then you know you have it saved at your clipboard at least and can paste it whenever you want to for backup purposes.

The other way to do things is to post it part-finished, and then edit, post again, and edit some more.

You don't physically paste the images into the post, just the url and img tags, so why not use notepad?

Notepad is faster, doesn't use formating, doesn't crash etc, win win win.

There's a reason web designers design websites in notepad and not word :-P

Thank you for all the replies. If it is a long post I do write the text beforehand in Word, and then cut & paste, as many of you have suggested. However, lovegroova may have the best suggestion!
