Default low power

Hey Guys and Girls,

Today I took the S to a rolling road, was a really good morning with lots of nice cars.

However, my car is down to 210bhp on the flywheel (175 otw).
Where is the most obvious place this power has been lost? wouldn't mind doing some things to it to get it to about 250 by next year =].

Cheers,

Jamie

That could be okay mate, what have other honda's got or any other stock S2000's on that dyno.

That is low but as said above could be right.

I've seen dyno figures range from 225 to 250 on bog standard cars with nothing wrong with them.

He said it's not the highest, but in no way the lowest. I am pleased with it, anything above 200 would have been great (84k 2003). It's more what I could do to bring it back to stock power and beyond. It has a DMS exhaust with Berk HiFlo and an induction kit and that's it performance wise, so a mapping to abuse those mods would be next on my agenda.

I dread to think what mine is

A good mapping session should see it back to stock one would assume?

Comparing dyno power is always a bit silly as there are so many variables but when mine was stock it made 191whp and now after thousands spent, its 210whp or something like that. Which is basically where it should have been out of the factory.

Honda lied...?

How many runs. They usually only get 210hp when sat on the rollers ages and so they Ecu retards the timing

No S2000 ever makes 240 on a genuine dyno. 210-220 atf is normal (170-180 atw)

But as ever, using a single figure from a dyno to decide you are down on power isn't a good idea.

Mine's been on lots of dynos and over 100 runs, and I pay no attention to the actual number tbh, only the comparison the mods make between runs or vs another car.

There was a good article in a recent Track Driver by Dave Walker on the subject of rolling road dynos: Linky
