Default lowering

I'm going to invest in some coilovers soon and wondered how much I can lower the car without needing other mods, apart from geo adjustment I assume?

I'm not into lowering just for looks (although I confess that the S could stand to lose a few mm), but I appreciate that lowering the CoG has obvious handling benefits.......

Any advice and comments welcome as ever.

Not at all.
We live in a country with excessive numbers of speed bumps and roads of a quality you would we think we pay no taxes towards.

I'm not looking to create a challenger for the 'slammed' Saxo Burger King car park racers and I'm perfectly happy for the ride height to stay as it is.

This is an exercise to improve B Road handling (damping in particular), not looks. If it loses a few mm it's fine, but that's a side effect, not an objective.........

I raised a thread of a similar nature only a few months ago, a search will help you matey.

I came to the conclusion based on advice in the aforementioned thread that up to 25mm would be safe, definitely no more than that without the other goodies.

Decent coilovers are alot of money, so perhaps save for a bit longer and buy the other bits too. At least you'll have some flexibility that way.

I wondered how long it would be before I got the 'do a search' reply

Thanks for the bite size summary anyway

An inch i believe, after that you cant get the full range of geo adjustment and thus bumpsteer etc.

I'm going to disagree on this!

I'm at 35mm the only other supporting mod is steering rack spacers which are peanuts and easy to fit. No issues with this set up over the last 14k miles. Much lower would give issues with rear suspension travel and clearance

BTW lowering increases the amount of roll.
