Default Lowering risks

looking to get mine s2 lowered soon. maybe about 25-35mm. but just wanted some people's experience with lowering and how there car copes with speed bumps, curbs and opening doors onto pavements. plus parking straight into a bay with the front bumper over hanging which risks scraping the bumper.
mines standard height and its quite close already to the above council mountains lol do you hit them? Scrape over them. Damage your vehicle? considering leaving my at standard height but looks so much better lowered of course.
Cheers

You would need to be a bit more careful with the parking and speed bumps etc but I havent met a speedbump I can't get over yet.

You can forget about parking with the bumper overhanging the kerb though

Mines on Eibachs which is 25-30mm

I'll be honest it came with them when I bought the car, I thought it was OEM as they were that soft as I'm used to rock hard coilovers. When you chuck her into the bends she soon stiffens up.

RARELY does she scrape, but she scrapes on the pillow speed bumps, think that's the exhaust in all honesty.

I've chinned it once on a high kurb, but ever so cautious now

I have recently had Eibach lowering springs fitted to my OEM suspension without any problems. My road is littered with speed bumps and I have not experienced any problems so far.

The only issue I have had is that occasionally I will scrape something on my drive as it has a weird kind of double dip. At the end of the day just be more aware that it is lowered and you'll be fine.

IIRC the Eibach kit is 25mm drop it the front and a 30mm drop at the rear?

Are the Eibach springs only for cosmetics or do they provide any improvements. I like the car's stance with them, though.

They are a progressive spring so at low speeds there are supposed to be very similar/same to OEM, but when you're pushing on the springs stiffen up for better handling.

Personally I have found them to be an improvement with noticeable increased cornering speed & stability. To be honest I only put them on as my suspension was off at the time being replaced for a younger set, my rears were leaking, so it made sense to do it at the same time. No regrets.

Just be careful when you lower it and you will have no problems, mine is a lot lower and I don't have any issues with mine

No problems with speed bumps or opening doors, but I've hit the front bumper on a kerb once or twice when parking. Also I scraped something going down a single track road the other day - not nice , and I did manage to beach it once when having to park on grass off the edge of a car park.

It depends if you have a sensible standard bumper, or a silly bit of stuck on plastic that you think makes it look like it's creating downforce. Do the latter and you're bound to have some issues.
