Default Making an S2000 Camera Mount

I've got a Ball and Socket camera mount from Jesspos, which cost me a tenner. I'm going to remove the wind deflector, and drill a hold in the top of the glove box, in between where the two bolts go in to secure the wind deflector.

All I need is a standard camera bolt and a wing nut or washer to secure the mount to the glove box lid.

Can anyone help me find one, or explain why they're so bloody hard to find, considering their application?

You've got PM.

So for reference, it's 1/4" diameter, UNC thread bolts you need?

You can get a thumbwheel which will screw up into the hole in the base of that ball/socket thing you have, but it is probably not long enough to work through the compartment lid.

Jessops will have them - from memory the bolt part is about an inch long. If Steven has proper long bolts they will be better though.

Defninitely the cheapest and easiest way to do it. I've been meaning to do it for ages. Can't wait to take some decent footage and produce some videos. I've got loads of ideas.

I looked at those on Jessop's site mate, but like you say they don't seem long enough.

Why dont you make a sheet metal bracket that will sandwich between the air screen and the top of the secret compartment, that way you dont need to drill any holes in the plastic and it can be returned back to origional. I would guess a Z profile would work or 2 sections of angle bolted back to back to make a Z profile.

Simple answer - too much like hard work. Besides, the hole will never be visible. When the mount's on it won't be seen, and when the wind deflector is back on, ditto.
