Default Megane RS Brembo calipers on S2000 (With the mod bracket) Help with disc choice pliz

Hello.
Made the thread here as i didnt really want an US help as i want the parts to be available in the UK.
Firstly, i found a totalled FN2 in a salvage yard, and i purchased the running gear and hubs with the big brembos on.

Now onto my own S, the brake bracket bolted up nice to my hub once id got the thing the right way round.

However when putting my oe disc back on under the caliper, its way too small.

The disc that came with the FN, fits the 5x114, and seems like it will be perfect under the caliper, however the centre bore is a couple of mm too small and doesnt clear the chunky centre bit of the hub. I have found websites selling the kits, which list the disc size, however alot of the websites talk about maching out the centre of the disc to suit the 70mm internal bore required
Some of the websites list the disc as a 350z setup. Before i start looking into grinding discs or shops that can take a centre out slightly on some kind of fancy machine, im curious if this has ever been done? Searching this site, last post made about it was 2010 as i can find, and google isnt much more help. Website link for ref on parts

So long ass post (but to show ive at least tried) in a short question, is it worth perusing or should i just stick with the OEM brakes

looks like the bracket is made to fit a disk of 330mm to 345mm depends which kit is was purchased for the fn2 as there are different kits with disk sizes

few options

get in touch with freaky parts and buy brackets for s2000 size disks

machine out the centre bore on fn2 disk ( not sure of the disk offset so not sure this would work also if you ever need to change disks machining would have to be done every time you need disks )

buy bigger disks for s2000 from freakyparts 325mm 330mm ( which ever size disk size came off fn2 ) or even get 2 peice disks

where about in the west mids are you pal

Boring out the centre bore to fit should not be a big deal for any machine shop. The "fancy machine" is called a lathe by the way.

Hi,

I have that kit on my car.

The discs that it came with the kit are from a Nissan Murano 3.5 V6 2008 onwards and had been bored to 70mm.

Regards
Bharat

If their megane brembos they are 2nd generation.
i have the brembo kit from stew at freaky parts gen 3 and that caliper takes a 320mm to 345mm disc depending on bracket used.
2nd gen megane brembos are smaller then 3rd gen but think they still need a 320mm disc.
Like above has mentioned fire stew some pics and he help you out.

Fancy machine sounds much nicer than lathe. Lathe sounds like something id do in the bath!

I am based just between Wolvertrampton and Walsall.

Ive measured the disc from the FN, its a 320mm. What im ultimately trying to avoid, is going to a machine shop with two discs. I wouldnt even know where to start.
Im hoping i can find a disc that will fit without having to bore out the centre,
Tegiwa do a big disc https://www.tegiwaimports.com/select...000-00-09.html
Im not sure why its so expensive.

Ive found i have a friend of a friend kinda thing, who works in a parts dept for Nissan. As FreakyParts lists its discs as 320x28 Nissan discs, im going to see what he can do for me.
However i can already feel like i might just be keeping the standard calipers as its just less faff.

A good question to ask yourself is: "Am I having problems with the brakes as they are?"

If you are using the car for road use only, then I suspect the answer is "no".
If you are a track day regular, then the answer is likely to be "yes".

Depending on the answer, make your next choice.

I run the brembo kit from freaky parts and its great.
If your after just discs then try contacting someone like MTEC brakes as they do custom discs.
If you cant be bothered with getting a couple of discs machines then I would advise against fitting these calipers as you will not be able to buy "off the shelf discs", will always be custom.
