Default Miss fire at 8k

Getting a slight hesitation /misfire at 8k that clears after it revs past. Seems to last about 200rpm. Started on Friday on way to work and noticed it again today

It's not flagging any error codes other than the lambda sensor hi and low V errors that are due to a dodgy primary sensor. Any thoughts? Plugs are only 1000miles old. I will do an Ecu reset with new lambda as I guess it could be a fuelling trim issue.

Car is standard except the TODA manifold/. Decat is still in the shed as I haven't got round to putting it back on

Could be lots of things Si.

Lmabda isnt used up at those rpms (pretty sure it goes open loop by then) so wont be that I dont think.

Valve clearances, coil pack, injectors cloggin up are likely (injectors being my bet!)

Can't be injectors, I use super clean fuel !

I've got a wideband in the loft I can try when I get round to it. I guess that will at least pick up a lean misfire

Still doing it I replaced the lambda and did an ECU reset incase the long term trims were affecting things

Will check the plugs havent come lose. feels strangled too, i wonder if the cats blocked at all - used to rev so cleanly due to the TODA. The TCT has started rattling too and the clutch is on its last legs I think Clocked past 159k tonight.

My clutch has started slipping at about that point in the rev range and it does feel like a fuel blockage type hesitation. The giveaway for me was the burning friction material smell when I pulled up - have you got any strange smells ?

Not noticed any smells but interesting idea. I'll check next tank of fuel as I had to put crap fuel in which always feels flat.

OK - so I removed the plugs and refitted and all was good.

however a new misfire has come back, this one is in the lower revs where it feels flat, it stutters a bit 5-6k and then it feels ok once in VTEC.

No CEL, interestingly my MOT yesterday has 170ppm HC. never recall it being over 20ppm. So maybe there is soemthing wrong with the cat?

Myabe the engine is just dead starting to see a bit of lead in the used oil analysis (161k mile sample).

Thanks

That was tongue in cheek but - What was you oil analysis saying?

Ive seen a bit on previous samples on my car but on something like MBs race car, zero lead.
