I plan on lightly modifying my S at some point, starting with uprated brakes. Has anyone used vividracing.co.uk?

I think the general consensus is to pay a visit to Dixon's and get a Dixcel set up if you want to uprate your brakes https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/843...braking-power/

It's what I'd do if I thought my brakes needed replacing/upgrading

Are you planning on tracking the car? if not i suspect dixcels will be a waste of money, i would go for standard discs with uprated pads.

The for sale section on here has a quite a few goodies pop up every now and then for air filters and exhausts etc. I'm just about to spend a small fortune on stuff from here. Camskill, blackcircles.com or even tesco tires are good starting points for new rubber. I actually got my new set of Maxxis MA-Z1s from eBay for a good price and just got them fitted locally, so depends what you're after.

If you're only looking to upgrade the pads Ferodo DS2500s are a good shout which is what's going on mine in a few weeks time.

Trader section in here is your best bet for parts, of the FS section.

Unless you are on track a lot i'd look at improving the tyres over the brakes (as they have more of an effect on braking performance) Standard brakes are very good.

I was going to use vivid but looking at the online reviews, decided to refrain.

There are many good outlets for brake pads and discs. If you're after something better than standard and good for spirited road driving, its worth looking at the Ferodo discs and DS2500 pads. Dixcels are more expensive but they work very well on track and fast road driving.

Places I would recommend:

TGM Sport
Torque Developments International
DMS Racing
TDI North
S2K Tuning (trader on here - see trading section)

Also echo sentiments by MB about your tyres. Better quality tyres do improve braking.

Im heading over to TGM on the 1st May for a full service and geo, ill ask them whilst i there.

Anyone know where i can get my wheels refurbished and sprayed black whilst i wait? Seems most places want to keep them for a few days... i dont have any spares to put on the car so this isnt the best option.

IMPO I wouldn't use Pristine, over the years I have had to rework a lot of their refurbed wheels, not slating the finish or the repairs themselves, but when they chip they chip off in BIG chunks, it must be the clearcoat they use although it could be a number of reasons.

You will be hard pressed to find someone who will repair/repaint wheels why you wait, there is a lot of work involved. Unless of course if you use someone like chips away, but I hate smart repair companies because I feel they killed the body repair trade but hey Ho that's another story.
