Default Modifry Engine Coolant Temp Mod

Just wondering if anyone has one of these fitted, and if so what they think of it? Linky

It basically changes the scale on the standard engine tempertuare lights so as to give you a better warning of pending overheating problems.

From this link it shows what it's doing to the scale. The beauty is you can change the scale to suit your needs.

It does mention AEM ECU users will require this mod to get the standard temp gauge working again. Not sure if any other after market ECU's do the same, and disable the temp gauge?

Hondata doesnt and iirc the Greddy blue keeps OBD function as well.

I think it's just AEM that couldn't be arsed to impliment it.

I've got to get one for mine at some point. There are two types, one for the only style dash, and one for the new (as I found out after trying to buy Mike's).

Your right Bibbs there were two different versions.

Once my Mugen ECU is in I'll decide if I'm going to get one. It does make sense tbh. And I like the idea of being able to change the scale to suit

I have this, and I still haven't installed it (pure laziness...).

You can install it even on a standard car, it just overwrites the display. the reason you'd have to use it with an AEM EMS is that the EMS doesnt display anything on your coolant temp light, so if you want to see the information then this will help you.

on a standard car, the interest would be that you can change the scale of temperature.
