See my sig. The Alpines produce decent bass (along with proper sound deadening and mounting) but a sub is what you really need I'm afraid, unless you want to cut the doorcards to pieces.

Or go for an under seat sub. https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/641...s/page__st__80

Chung, I see you have an MY2000 car which has coaxial speakers down by your feet, so getting some doorcards from a later model would be a good idea, so you can install component speakers.

Have you changed the Head Unit yet?

Are you sure? Coaxials have the tweeter inside the woofer, down by your feet.

Components have the woofer and tweeter separate, with the tweeters near the top of the doors.

Here's an MY02 car - the tweeters go inside the silver circles

And here's an MY00 car

Hope that makes it clear

I initially had the under the seat ripspeed sub but preffered a little more bass.

Bought an S2000 specific box off a member off here that fits perfect along with an alpine sub which has a S logo on (pure coincidence!!)
