Default More high speed stability

OK, I'm getting more used to the S2000 now, but one thing i'm still not keen on is the turn-in at speed. I think it is primarily due to the passive rear wheel steering, but I hate it on double apex bends when you make the initial turn in, then tighten your line and it feels like the back end is coming round! Don't get me wrong, i'm all for a bit of sideways action, but only under my terms - and with the S it is very hard to feel the breakaway point at speed!

So, what can I do to alleviate this? I have had the Geo done (current settings, below) so wonder if there's any tweaks I can make to that to help, without crippling the tyre wear? Failing that, any other suggestions? I like to have 100% confidence in my vehicles, and whilst the S is infintely better since having the Geo done, it's still not perfect at speed!

Suggestions welcome

Geo.
Did you ask the tuner what you wanted the car to handle like?

PS. Can't see the settings.

Weird - I can see the JPG! Can you not?

The car was so bad before we just decided to put it back to stock Honda settings and take it from there as a base.

Now I have driven it a fair bit on the stock settings I know what I like and what needs to be improved - just after some "tried and tested" suggestions to give me the results I want!!

I think Dembo has a mod that helps reduce the RWS. Not sure exactly what it is but its a part that once incorparated into the chassis reduces the effect.

I cant help with regard to geo, sorry.

Personaly, I'd want to get your front caster within tighter tolerances, 6 degree's on both sides. 5˙5 on front-right should be further across on the scale than on you're pic? Has it been artificialy adjusted? 5˙55' is honda's min limit, and that scale is showing it near center.

Mine were 5˙30' to 5˙40', and the steering feel was transformed after the geo was set correctly. Link

Hi MIP,

You may be confusing some people with your use of the decimal system, when I think you mean degree minutes and seconds!

Dembo has the same Megan Racing rear toe rods that I used to run (when I had my Nitrons). The RWS was eliminated by the subsequent geo set up.

The caster has been adjusted to suit the chassis of the car - as with most cars, it is marginally longer on one side than the other, so the change in caster makes the wheelbase on both sides exactly equal. I could adjust both further 'out' though, keeping the same difference, but not sure what effect/benefit this would give?

As for these rear toe rods from Megan Racing, that does sound interesting and might be tempted by them, if they're the right price!

Rear wheel steering sucks IMO - whats the benefit of it anyway? Is it designed to help n00bs get round corners when they go in too fast? to me, it just comprimises outright control and adjustability right when you need it most!
