Default MOT failed :(

had it's 11th MOT yesterday - 3 weeks overdue, and i only noticed it yesterday morning. just aswell i didnt get pulled.

failed on front tyres (bad tracking from 12months ago)
advisories on EPS light (fast idle emmisions triggered it), and a front suspension bush is starting to become unbonded.

i cant believe MOT ran out on the 11th aug, and i only noticed yesterday :S whoops.

Not bad then if it's only a fail on tyres..

Other stuff can be done as and when.

Errr, have I misunderstood? How can your fast idle cause a fault with your power steering?

Tango - if you leave it on fast idle for long enough, then the EPS system can think the car is moving but throws a fault as it thinks it is weird it has no steering input.

usually comes about in winter when people sit in the car to warm it up
the MOT guy must of been doing it to both warm the car up and for emissions fast idle test.

simply driving it clears the fault after 30seconds or so.

It also happens if do the "idle learn" procedure after disconnecting the battery. The light goes off if you drive it a little.
