Default Mot passed again

Just had a yearly service/mot done by my local Honda dealership,Howard's Weston super mare. Good service and standard of workmanship as always and very competitive on price.

Car passed the mot but front pads are getting low and will need replacing soon. They commented that the NSF caliper was sticking slightly(Honda calipers really are rubbish)they managed to free it off though. They said the front discs are 1mm above min thickness so I'll probably replace the front discs/pads and calipers in the next month or so when the weather warms up a bit.

Is there a definitive guide to replacing the front discs/pads and calipers? I've done a search but there is nothing that is comprehensive enough for me go get my spanners out. I did find one for a civic so I guess it's very similar? If there's anybody local to me that could supervise I'd be more than happy to compensate.

2x recon front calipers ordered from ebay £184.99 delivered
I'll get the pads from honda as they are pretty good value for money.

Cars January 2005 so 3 Mot's now.

I've owned the car for four years and in that time the only work its needed were 2 rear calipers as they had started to seize up.

As i've mentioned before Honda calipers really are junk.

That is great news and good to hear that you are pleased with WSM Honda. I think very highly of them.

Just out of interest what is the min mm on the front disks.

My S is also a 2005 model just turned over 37,000 and was wondering this very thing the other day

Minimum is 23mm. Mines done 40k and both are just over 23mm so need replacing. I guess yours at 37k are in a similar state.

£143.00 plus VAT for a front disc and over £200 plus VAT for a front caliper. No brainer really.

I said if Howards are so good, why are they not fitting your new parts?

Not, "how much would oem parts cost".
