Default mpg?

over the last month or so, i've noticed a slight misfire between 7-8k rpm.
this weekend, i did a run up the m1 to huddersfield.
full tank; full to the brim and off i went.

averaged around 80 all the way, (outside of the 50 limits)., and around 10-15mile steady-ish local roads. no traffic - steady constant speed.

total weekend mileage: 260miles according to tomtom, and sucked 45l of fuel - so thats 26mpg!!!
i'd of liked to see low 30's, but since it's been such a long time that i've been on the motorway, i cant remember what i used to get.

does 26mpg sound too low?

what with the low MPG, and 'misfire' symptoms, im thinking i've got a failed lambda...

Just running mine in and had to fill it up today - 329 miles on the clock when the light came on - probably the most economic it will ever be.

I would have expected below 30 in my old S but then I never really bothered checking

Can be a number of things try the simple things first like clean air filter etc etc. Mpg could be lambda related map related just need more info how it runs.I get 270 to a tank mainly country roads

26 mpg seems fine/okay to me remember older s2000s run richier

Don't get hung up on the lambda sensors you,d know about as you get other probs or a cell light.

Mine does between 26 and 28 mpg (occasionally nearly 29). My main daily drive is essentially motorway with a bit of urban driving at either end. Then the rest is mainly urban.

^^ Mine too. Low 30s on a steady ride out/minimal VTEC.

That's sounds pretty good to me, I very rarely get anymore than 270 miles to a tank.

Any mods around to lock this thread before it descends into being another 'I can get 300 miles out of mine' type affair. Doh!

Ah the weekly MPG thread

Misfire when you have your foot down or high RPM won't be lambda related.

air filter - now got CAI on.. been on for 2wks so ecu should of re-learnt.

i'd of expected 10-20's mpg's if giving it beans (usually do) and i couldnt care about mpg at any other time.
just mid 20's on 98% sustained motorway speeds was a bit suprising.

must be roof down causing more drag

thinking about it - misfire hasnt showed it's ugly face since i changed to CAI. must of been dirty filter.

Misfire from a filter would be unlikely Mr Veehex!

i wouldnt really call it misfire - more of hesitation at high revs.

everything seems fine at the moment, maybe im just being paranoid!
