I remember from reading posts related to the common misfire problem that lowering mpg can be related to a dodgy lambda sensor.

I think MB's posts were the most informative.

Not much help I know, but rambling thoughts only from me, sorry!

It is possible a dodgy MAP sensor could cause poor ecomomy, it could be a red herring though as other thing like a 'vac leak' etc could cause this, plus you would likely get other symptoms associated it with it IMO.

I take it those values are 4 MPG values you posted? if so 28MPG isnt bad really!.

IMHO it could well be the weather, with it being very cold you'll loose some economy.

Though it could be something else which is why web diagnose is dificult, i take it the car is fully serviced? - i think most enhusiasts on here have well maintained cars though .

There are ways of telling if its the MAP sensor, it should give back certain voltages back and for example be 40kPa (pressure) on a steady cruise.

I doubt it the o2 sensor (folk seem to just replace them willy nilly on here when theres no need ). The o2 sensor is used on part throttle, cruising, idling etc if there is stuttering/spluttering in any of these circustances it could be the o2 sensor. But by you telling me honda have done an emmisiosn test (and your previous threads) providing they have done it correctly, the reading they got back would ring alarm bells indicating its a problem with the O2 sensor, which makes me think its not your O2 sensor.

TBH Honda are some pretty good equipement i know most of its on a ramp type thing but you could easily tell if its the map if you have a portable plug in OBD2 reader.

Oh BTW you cant really clean MAP sensor 'as such', give it a good thump (ideally witha rubber hammer) it could dislodge dust/oil but not too hard as you can break them.

My average mpg from the day I got it 10yrs ago has been between 23-25mpg.

Not sure if it helps you though. The newer cars should give better mpg than a MY00 car.

Sounds like the weather to me.

It's worth mentioning that with N/A mods my MPG has gone up

Hardtop guy is your friend for a MAP sensor, I bought one off him years ago it was about 30 quid instead of 200 quid over here!

I really doubt this, cold air is alot denser therfore you get a better burn. Infact as someone already pointed out you should get a slightly better MPG.
