Default MPG

ok so me and the other half went to the east cost(skegness) at the weekend for a break, when i first got the car it took £45ish to brim the tank and it did roughly 200ish on a full tank. I put the same amount in £45 stuck to the B roads and got 215miles on half a tank im pretty impressed with that and that was hardly no vtec just when i needed it .

I have done 300 on tank for the life of me I can't remember when or where but I know I did it once. Perhaps it was the pouring rain on the motorway when I was driving to Arran last year and couldn't do more than 50mph.

The rest of the time I'm happy to say I don't care all, I know is the tank needs filling up quite a lot which means lots of shell points and that every 20 or so fills I also need to replace the rear tyres. With careful use I should be getting that number down to nearer 15 fills this time around.

The tank is 50 litres.

I averaged 20mpg over the 20,000 miles I drove the car.

Started using the S for commuting recently. Mostly on A roads and I usually achieve 340miles with 43litres. So that's about 35mpg

I get about 80 miles per 1/4 tank. The majority of my daily drive is motorway / A roads, although I do think the M56, which I use from Warrington to Chester is a pretty inefficient one, fuel wise.

Really? Averaging 200 miles a tank, that means your tyres only do 4000 miles, what tyres are you using?

I'm averaging around 220-240 on my urban commute. Best I've ever had was 290 on a run down to Heathrow and back. This has neither improved or deteriorated over the 2.5 years I've had the car, but I have only done 11k miles over that period.
