Default My car is shaking itself to bits! HELP!

Hi Guys

I need some advice on my S2000 as over the past 3 months it has started to develop a vibration/shake. It is noticeable over 10mph. Through the steering wheel it has developed a light shake as well. Only today i opened the boot and a nut which was supposed to be attached to a screw has just fallen off! It is really strange though that when it rains it is not so bad??? I have been searching the forum and it could be the following

- Wheels are out of balance - I have had the wheels re-balanced at the weekend with no change
- Tyre pressures are too high - Currently set at 31psi all round
- Tracking is out - I had the car 4 wheel aligned 6 months ago - I have done a track day since but the car was fine after
- Ball joint?? I have not checked this
-Steering rack??? I have not checked this
- Engine mounts???
- Or something else?????

Has anyone else developed this shake/vibration?? The roads round here are shocking anyway but far worse with this current problem! It is that bad that the passenger

No idea really but...

does it vibrate with revs or with speed?

when they checked the wheels for balance would they have also noticed if they were bent. look at the inside rim of the wheel as that is where there is least support.

One of your tyres is no longer round? You'll have to tAke them all off to check or you could just jack up eacH corner and use a fixed point close to the tyre the spin the wheel to see what happens.

more so from speed than revs, you do get a little more of a vibrate when in gear

sounds like a bent drive shaft! Look at the tires first though as this could also do this

I would have a guess at CV joint on the driveshaft or propshaft, probably inboard CV joint at that. Get them looked at, and also the propshaft bolts whilst under there.

Just for stupidity sake, make sure the wheel nuts are tight, don't laugh this happened to me once!

You'll need to get it on stands for a good wiggle, or get it to a garage.

Get each corner up in turn and spin the wheel (look for wobbles).
Then twist the wheel left/right and up/down to see if the bearings have any play.
Then twist, pull, shake all the suspension components, look for anything loose.
