Default Never seen one before......

Today was the first time I've seen an unmarked police motorcylist, He was riding a purple looking machine and black leathers. Looked just like any typical biker to me except it had POLICE in small letters on the back of the helmet. There were also some hidden blue lights as well.

Those ROZZERS are getting very sneaky, good job I wasn't in the S otherwise I may have been then it would have been and very soon after

Watch out for him, apparently he frequents the A3(M) quite a bit.

I saw the thought cross his mind about doing me for cutting him up, but as it was his fault and I was signalling and running out of road fast he thought better of it!!

another point, I have a Bel Euro 550 and if I'd have had it out on the windscreen 4 all to see could he do me for having one ? does it have to be plugged in ? anyone know what the law is on these ?

radar detectors are currently legal to own and operate in the UK.

It used to be the case that they were considered illegal under the wireless telegraphy act ( or somthing like that) because it was argued that you were recieving data that is not intended for your use.

Then there was a test case in court and it was ruled that a radar pulse actually contains no data at all. it is just that, a pulse. therefore no law was being broken.

laser diffusers are currently a bit more of a grey area because they are actually intended to interfere with police equipment, and this couls be considered to be subverting the cause of justice....but as yet there has been no such case..

Came along M25 y'day, just dropped my mate off to pickup his TVR Griff, we were in convoy zipping along, when I just caught the tell tale bonnet of a cop car on their 'throne' up on the hard shoulder. Braked and cruised by. Thought he ain't chasing us. About 300m around the bend was the chase cop on his bike, just waiting for the reg of his next victim. Luckily not us.

Can this country please spend time and money catching the real crims of society and not us 'innocent' speeders!

Any more details on the bike? If you give me a few brief details, shape of lights, sports bike or tourer, etc and I reckon I can post a pic of what to look out for!

Too right, I never speed in a 30 or 40 zone. Couldn't live with myself if little Timmy stepped out after his football.

But on an empty M25, in the dry and in daylight, let the population get on with their day to day is what I say. Heck or we would all go out and by an Insight!

I sort of agree with Gazzer. I go way too fast on the Motorway - conditions permitting - but never in the controlled zones.

Motorway driving (even at speeds) is statistically the safest. It does help when we are all (generally) moving in the same direction.

They used to have a georgous red Ducati sports bike up here. I could not believe it the first time I saw it, and police motorcyclists get to take them home on a night, nice company bike to play with.
