Not sure, this 3.0 straight six 265Bhp 315Nm is said to be priced below the convertible..

I doubt it. Convertibles yes, coupes no. They just don't appeal to as many people as the drop tops. Take my car as an example - Z3 roadsters are everywhere, how many coupes are there? 800.

This will be more common as they'll be offering a lower spec/cheaper version, the M spec will be rarer - but more common than mine. I guess it'll take a little of the M3 market - unless M3 drivers really do have friends.

Interesting to see how many badge snobs dis the car for the badge rather than as a car...

If its priced right regardless of the power it will sell.

They could make a 1.1l version and everyone would de-badge it for their neighbours!!

Don't like the current design theme at all, to be honest - our current 3-series will be the last BMW we will own until they move to a new design theme...

Shouldn't the question be "how many M Roadsters" - didn't the coupe only come as the M? If there had been the cheaper versions (1.9 etc.) they would have probably sold a few more.

But that more people would prefer the drop top.

Really, as the 3.0 in the convertible doesn't make that kind of power. It's closer to 215bhp.

Although I do like the looks, but I could never buy one. As discussed at MM2, BMW dealers are complete [expletives to make Derek and Clive blush deleted]'s

You do get the occasional good one...

I'm very particular over who I deal with - if I get the kind of treatment in a dealership that I don't think is appropriate then I just walk out.

I have to say that the BMW dealer in Bristol is one of those - the oh-so-important salesmen just looked down their noses at us, so we left safe in the knowledge we would never go there again!

We dealt with a guy at Rydale BMW in Newport who was excellent - sadly, I think he's left now.

I believe the 3 litre used to make 231 bhp (well it did in the 3 series) but has since been uprated (the new 3 litre 1 series having 246bhp or perhaps a bit more?)
