New Driver
I took delivery of my MY04 S2k last week and the running in period is killing me ( I went for a UK Spec parrel import instead of an MY03 UK car)
I haven't had her over 5.5k revs yet but by the end of the week I should have covered the 650 miles needed so I'm hoping for dry whether so that I can hear the scream.
Bit paranoid after reading JonJoe's thread and all of the response about driving in the wet. I am used to the grip of a scooby so I guess I'll only use the VTEC in a straight line.
Anyway just thought I'd say Hi to everyone. Been reading the FAQ's and recent thread and I can't wait for the summer to come. I'm going to try out a track day or two also this year, any thoughts on good location. I live near Lichfield in Staffordshire.

Just drive smoothly and think about the balance of the car and the road surface before putting your foot down and you'll be OK. Remember its not just the wet that reduces grip - cold tyres/cold air temp have an important effect too. You certainly don't need to hit VTEC to lose the back end!
....oh and it is still possible to spin it in a straight line.
....as I have found out.
I'm not saying its the best way, but I try to expect the back end to slide on every bend in the wet. That way it may not catch me out so easily. (Touching wood frantically)!

That's pretty much what I do - and some corners in the dry as well if I am really pushing it.
