Sounds like bad idea for the Honda's twitchy back end - won't that generate lift at high speed?

Only if mounted under the rear...Where it is it will give added downforce and so more grip

Ah! But I had reached my journey's end at High Wycombe (hence the carved-up grass verge where cars park) and had put up the hood for security. If you had heard the grumbles from Sylvia, and seen the way she wore the hood up on her coat during the journey, you would have known that I was driving 'topless'.
