New Nuts
Having had genuine Work RS aluminuium lug nuts for three months which, which have been torqued correctly all of TWO times, only for one of the threads to strip, I am looking at my options, having got nowhere with Work USA!
I know aluminium nuts are not liked by many on here but my reason for buying, was A, they went well with the Work wheel colour and B, being as they are genuine I assumed they'd be fit for purpose!
Any suggestions for an alternative closed end nut similar to the Work RS blue? I found these fake Rays ones on eBay but noticed they are listed as Duaralumin so unsure how much better they would be! I don't mind copies but would be a lot happier with steel nuts now.
These are the Work nuts

Thanks

get steel ones, muteki i think is the brand, tbh, any steel nuts are pretty much going to be better than top ali ones.
the muteki nuts are around £70 but they are good, you really do need steel wheel nuts, why people think aluminium wheels nuts are a good idea i will never know...

My only thought about 'fakes' is that they would be steel and probably as good as any other steel lug nuts. I mean, what can go wrong with steel nuts??
The Spoon nuts are also aluiminium (or this duraluminium stuff)

Now what's the OEM recommend wheel nut torque , seem to think its a lot more than 88 ft lbs !
Sod using Ali nuts or Ali with a shovel full of coper , Dural , I think I will stick to slightly rusty steel chrome OEM nuts that I can tighten without fear , keep the Ali ones for show cars I suppose if you must . But for normal driving around on lumpy British roads and those who do track days etc I think go steel , prefer me wheels to stay attached.
