Default New Owner...To Be

Hi Everyone

I thought it was about time I posted to thank you for the advice I have found by stealthely browsing this forum.

I have just put a deposit on a new Montecarlo Blue S2000 GT, the only thing left to do is scrape the finances together and take delivery, hopefully within the next couple of weeks.

I look forward to getting the first 600 miles out of the way and getting the hood down, especially with the weather as it is this weekend.

Anyway thanks again for all your insights which has persuaded me that this is the car for me.

Cheers

Jak

Hi Jak - welcome to the board.

Good choice and needless to say you won't regret it. Don't go mental with the revs straight after hitting 600 miles - that should be regarded as a MINIMUM amount of miles...

and welcome to the board.

First 600m should be kept under 6000rpm abour 5500 will be fine.
After the 600m for every 100m you can go 1000rpm's higher
ie 6-700= 7000rpm
7-800=8000rpm

Take care and check the tyre pressure and oil regularly.

Befroe long you will be having ots of topless and plenty of

That's all very boring...

...But I'll be a good boy.

Can anyone recommend a tyre pressure guage and a pump/compressor to keep an eye on the tyres (all the garages compressors around here are usually knackered).

Cheers

I got a digital cigarette socket compressor & guage with torch jobby from Halfords - approx 25 - 30 quid. It does the job. I use this instead of garages, so that I have some consistency in pressure (wish my body could have the same pressure balance ).

I didn't think depreciation would be that bad. My decsision to buy new was mostly being prompted by not being able to find a good enough saving on a MY02+ used.

I'm paying
