Default New/Reconditioned Calipers

Well, my brake saga continues. Took the car to See Jorge at Crown today and he tells me the only thing that is causing the heat in the rears is the calipers. He thinks that, although everything is fee when the car is on the ramp, when the brakes get some heat in, the pistons are not retracting properly.

Having found out that Crown want

Very strange for it to happen only when warm, and only started after you had disc/pads fitted .

What about breakers can you get a set off a newer car ? .

I'm not sure it didn't pre-exist the fitting of the new disks and pads, I only noticed it once the change had been made. On the old set of pads, the rears were far more worn than the fronts, which does make some sense.

Jorge knows his stuff, so I'm inclined to go with his recommendation.

has the heat problem come back with OEM pads?

Its not that surprising that the rears have worn more the fronts. Rears can wear very quickly when the fronts start to fade on track.

Yes, rears still getting hot, Jorge tells me that although everything is free when the car is up on the ramps, it's the only explanation, especially considering the amount of rust there, and the age of the calipers, as pictured below.

Thinking about it, with the old pads, the rears were worn far more than the fronts (and the fronts weren't that bad, despite 3 1/2 track days, as I'm not as hard on the brakes as some people here - naming no names Rich )

I'm thinking that there was nothing wrong with the Dixcels, but that the problem pre-existed the fitting, I'd just never had cause to notice it.

As above, I've managed to source a pair of reconditioned calipers for under
