You're dead right to be honest bud, I had a GT with a sport pack which still wasn't a good B-road car even after putting adjustable suspension on it. Saving grace was mine turned out indestructible, still going today at 200k miles apparently. Thankfully the GT Four was a completely different car altogether.

Just drove another S today, seemed very good for a Y reg (68k FSH) but kept cutting power - the garage said it was to do with having low fuel if that makes sense to anybody.

I would ask them to put enough fuel in it and take it for another test drive.

Tis very good advice, advice I wish I'd followed when I bought my GT4, would have saved me thousands there with everything that broke (turbo, engine x2, etc).

However I've found one extremely local to me on PH which ticks all my boxes so I'm enquiring about a viewing right now.

Just sold the Rallye on eBay too, so fingers crossed the guy shows with the money although his communication skills border on alabaster retard frustrating.

There's also a nice red S out in Aberystwyth but I'd prefer the one above. Fingers crossed hey guys! gagging to get in a good car again!

All that car for shy of 6k....

Let us know how you get on. I would have gone Berlina if I'd have ever replaced my Silverstone

Personally I'd look for a facelift car. You might pay £1500.00ish more but much better looking cars and lots of developments. Check out the FAQ for the details.

Thanks Bandit.

Well unfortunately this really is top of my budget for what I want to spend on an S right now so I'll be needing to stick with the pre-facelifts for the time being.

Regarding the car above:
- as far as I can tell it's still on the original clutch and the timing chain hasn't been serviced either. The alloys were fairly warm after a 20 minute jaunt (wondering about caliper binding).
- 2 months left on tax and MOT
- a small tear/wear hole at each hood hinge
- due a good servicing

Otherwise solid from my limited knowledge of the car. How much would you guys be taking off/factoring in from those points above?
