I'm not paying anything like £1000. As I have said I don't doubt the quality of Jack Smiths work but taking into account the cost of getting there and back and more importantly to me the time, he does not suit my requirements. So I will pay the extra.

He does both Mohair and vinyl I believe, but I would pay the extra £20 odd for the mohair, it's a bit of a no-brainer.

I paid the standard £280 (which since April has increased to £290) and I got a Mohair roof. Jack never mentioned to me before or while I was there that he deals in anything else other than Mohair.

Post a photo of whatever color you get on the. I think the burgundy on Moonrock would be stunning but Moonrock is stunning all the time and a source of much jealousy on my part that it wasn't available in North America.

I'm booking in at carhoods northern for a new soft top (as long as I get the replies I'm expecting haha)

Well my 07 soft top is looking a bit tired and I fancy sprucing it up a bit so Im thinking of going for a dark red/burgandy colour. My car is moonrock grey.

What do you guys think of the colour choice (should I play it safe and just get a black one? ) also have you heard about these guys at all? A few people I have spoke to said the work they do is outstanding. What do you think?

Thanks
I'm having a new mohair top fitted, I've done a lot of research and I've found prices from under £300 to £1300. The guy I've chosen comes to you for an extra £30, well worth it to me.
Not Jack Smith price but the for the convenience and quality it's worth what I am paying to me. I have no personal experience to doubt that for what Jack Smith charges you get a reasonable job but if you take the cost of 6 hours labour off the price it doesn't leave much left for the hood so I am prepared to pay the extra.
Who is the person you are using and do you think he would travel to Middlesbrough? Its a lot more tempting when they can come to you. End of may is crunch time when I'll be getting it done so pleanty of time to decide, that moonrock with the dark red soft top in the thread posted looks absolutely lush in my opinion.

Going to have a word with the guy I take my car to and see if he can reccomend anyone also. Will report back with more prices and availability. Carhoods northern only need a weeks notice but seems they are a bit expensive.

Thanks for the quick replies guys! Jack smith is too far for me to travel In my opinion.
