Default New tyre - 4 nails (post-advice req.)

Had a puncture on Saturday, shifted the wheel to my local HiQ and just hoped they had a bridgestone potenza in stock (they hadn't). With a desperate need to get back on the road I accepted a new tyre on the rear, it's a dunlop 91y tl sport maxx. I know you should replace them in pairs so I will probably head back this weekend, but should I get another dunlop to replace the other low tread potenza on the rear. Or should I order a pair of better quality tyre (I can only assume the dunlop is relatively poor).

Tyre dunce here, need some advice, ta.

Buy another Dunlop and a towbar and a plough...

There is a good chance you will be spending a good proportion of your driving life in the furrows.

Go get the correct Bridgestone's.

I can't believe a tyre supplier would sell you just one tyre, thats potentialy a very dangerous situation

and on any car. Do it on an S and quite simply dangerous, as advised get the proper Bridgestone tyres (REO50 mz or RE050A depending on the age of your car) be absolutely certain you have the correct tyres, check the FAQ here and accept nothing less.

recent experience has told me that major tyre manufacturers will give you whatever they have in stock, or whatever they get a kick back on, what they get to first on the rack. As long as it's the right size.

Insist on getting the correct tyre(s) for your car.
