New tyres on
I've just got some eagle f1 asymetrics on the car today (just the rear). They sit on the wheel a little differently from the re050, the side walls seem a little more bulged out n curved.
I asked the garage to put them to 32psi, is this the right pressure for the tyre? I'll go out n check they're correct a little later when they've cooled.
Is the tread pattern on these directional? The garage said they arn't, as the lines seems to angle one way on one side and the opposite way on the other (the gs-d3's are obviously directional, but these seem not to be?). I'll take some pics tommorow to show what I mean.
Also, how long do new tyres take to bed in? They seem ok booting it in a straight line. I thought they perhaps felt a bit floaty at times on the motorway but then I might be being paranoid as they're new. I've put it sideways a few time's where I've had a bit of room, just to test the limit of grip, and it's pretty easy to slide at the moment, (while hugely fun
) I don't feel to confident in them yet.

(not me I might add).As for the pressure, I'll be trying a few different ones when my Assymetrics arrive (rear only) in the next couple of days. They do sit differently on the rear but I don't believe handling will be badly affected by the different tyres on each axle.
Camskill did mine for
Buy a digi pressure guage, there's a nice one in Costco for a tenner and it's brilliant, I check my pressure every other week. The best pump I've had is actually a mountain bike pump, has a nice accurate guage on it and is easy to store (also pretty cheap at around a tenner)
Looking at getting either F1's or Proxies in the next few weeks and wondering if anyone has any experience of the two and how they feel/work to help my choice? Also what is the difference between the gs-d3 and asymmetric F1's performance wise?
Can't think of a reason to buy Toyo over RE050s, the Assymetrics are apparently better than the GSD3s in both wet and dry, particularly in wet.
I've just ordered some Assymetrics for the rear of the S2k, had them on another car and they were very good indeed.
