Finally after searching for almost half a year and viewing 7 cars I bought my lovely S2000. It needs a bit of work but it already looks good. Silverstone silver from 2002 with red carpets and seats. 86k on clock.

What is an AP1? An AP2? • APx is Honda's S2000 chassis definition. Original S2000s made from 2000 to 2003 are AP1 chassis, while S2000s made from 2004 on are all AP2 chassis. The differences are significant and can be found in the model year FAQ (see link above).
It is important to note that in 2004, North American S2000s got a revised engine as well as chassis, commonly known as the AP2 engine (F22C) - this is the 2.2L stroked engine. Europe and Asia continued to get the 2.0L engine (F20C) in 2004 but in the updated AP2 chassis. Japan got the stroked 2.2L engine starting in 2006, but Europe never got the 2.2L engine.
There is some confusion around the naming conventions of S2000s in Europe between AP1 and AP2 since they all have the F20 engine. Honda never officially released the AP2 chassis in Europe, some say it was a move to avoid regulation certification costs.
Apologies for my misinformation above! Didn't realise that 2006 on the JDM models were 2.2ltr. Strange it didn't coincide with the USDM introduction of the F22
Hi, not so much a new user introduction, but just a post to say I still miss my 2005 Moonrock S2XSS, which I sold in June 2009. I was a fairly active member on here (over 2000 posts but they seem to have disappeared, after 17 years no surprise). Good see the community is still very active and as enthusiastic about the S2000 as I was. Anyway reason I for posting now is that I have just found a Muz leather satchel that I offered for sale on here in 09 along with cover & mats etc but had no takers. It has sat in a cupboard since then. Satchel hangs on the 2 hooks behind the seats, great for maps & CDs. If anyone is interested please drop me a DM. Cheers Richard
