Default New wheels

I'm really pleased - should have done this last year. And these 17" RE050s, these are the stuff. I've only done 25 miles, but they feel fantastic. And what's really suprised me is that I was expecting the ride and road noise to be worse with the lower profile tyres, but I haven't really noticed any difference.

Seems noise is as much to do with the tread design, rather than the width or profile.

The profile is only moderately lower, so it ought to not make too much of a difference.

Pleased you're pleased with the results though!

Good grief, those rims are so heavy. You ought to have got ahold of some 16" JDM wheels, Dave. Anything else is a sin, so I've heard

I got the RE050's really hot today and they are very good then. Just shite in the wet.

The best design of all the stock wheels I think.

But what's with the black? I'll have to change mine now.

Sin? Only actions & consequences, I'm afraid. Don't let the religious contaminate the mind!

OEMs are too heavy for some of us, it's true.

Still, even 16" JDMs aren't much cop with the rubbish tyres currently available, so all bets are off, I'm afraid.

Best go with skis.

It was Blurter I've copied. I think it was him that had black wheels but silver nuts and centre caps at Donington in December, which is when I made up my mind. I was never sure about the all black look, and silver is just boring.

The extreme weight is a concern though. There goes the handling and performance.

My nuts is black.

Should I see a doctor?
