New Wheels
After persevering with 16" wheels and trying different tyres to the S02s (which I always thought were great) I've just fitted the latest OEM 17" wheels with Bridgestone MZs and the difference is stark - I should have done this ages ago.
If anyone is having any doubts, you should go for it. The latest OEM wheels look really smart, 5 spokes will be easy to clean and are virtually colour coded for a Silverstone, the fastest colour.
Even though I've only got a few miles on the new tyres, the car already feels planted just like it used to and gone is the vague floaty feel at high speed. Steering is sharper than it ever was and there's only a very small reduction in ride quality.
I can't wait until my car goes to CofG later this month.
I'm falling in love with the car all over again!!

The S-02s were a lot more fun.
The MZs are much more 'grown up' and I'd recommend them to anyone who finds the thing a bit too highly-strung/nervous in the wet on Esso Twos.
I've got an additional 1/2" width on the front (bit Euro-look) so the turn-in is incredibly 'solid'.

I like these wheels to, did you ge a set second hand/may I ask where you got a set from?
Lee, I'm at CofG on 21st and 22nd - need to allow more than one day in view of the age of the car - and have booked a place nearby for the Sunday and Monday nights. Thanks for the offer though. Maybe I'll see you at chris's workshop?
