Default Newbie with some issues...

Firstly Hi, I've been lurking here for a while ever since a work mate keep banging on about buying an S2000. He had a good idea so I bought one, he still hasn't ;-)

I've found this forum to be very helpfuly, not least the amazing TCT fix with a bit of emery paper! Still tracking down things that are annoying me about the car and i'm stumped by the not working Headlight Washers.

I don't need them for an MOT until next year, was just trying to fix them whilst it's sunny. Fuse is ok, I hear a relay click twice... Put a meter across the cables going to the washer motor (had the arch liner out) and I get a momentary 12v then nothing. Doesn't matter if the lights are on or off. Not sure I want to buy another pump until i'm sure the electrics are all they should be

My CAT headshield has started to rattle, think i'm the first owner of the car that's taking it to VTEC. How do I stop this, tried to reach under the car with a socket, but couldn't work out what the bolts are, they seem a strange size. We have a Pit at work, but it's been full of HGV's this week.

Having previously owned a 111s Elise and my DD being a remaped 330d it's taking some getting used to the S. But I think i'm going to grow to love it !

Congratulations on your new purchase, had mine just a few weeks ago too.

I had a rattling heat shield too and a friend and I jacked the car up, used an axle stand, and found one bolt and nut missing and replaced it with a spare. Job done. As long as the bolt went through it, we used it - didn't have to be exactly the same as the other three.

Welcome to the wonderful world of S2000 ownership.

When you said you have some issues I thought you were perhaps having trouble closing the passenger window or trying to find the secret compartment.

There's a secret compartment?!!

Personally, I found finding the petrol cap latch was my first issue when trying to fill her up!

I was so annoyed with the trader for not telling me about the fuel release. I picked up the car with fumes in and had to go straight to the garage, it took me 10 mins to find the release. Even after reading the Manuel. What a stupid place to put it. To be fair at least there is no chance of opening the bonnet by mistake like you can in a Civic !!

Pump can be replaced with a cheap one from what i remember, there's a few threads on here about it - certainly NO need to go to Honda to get it

the guy I bought the car off didn't know about the secret compartment until the day I took it for a test drive
