Default Next Generation CTR

Obviously a photochop based on the spy pics of the five door which has been doing the rounds. Interesting, but largely guesswork I reckon.

Good spot.
Looks good, but I'm not so sure about the front MPV-like styling.(I suspect this has much to do with pedestrian safety).

eeeeuuugh that first pic is awful, it'd be handy if the photoshopper had an understanding of the basic laws of perspective.

Dumb Auto Express, got nothing better to do than to get works experience people to make up stuff .

The bottom pic looks okay though.

Yep, I like the back. It's all speculation though really, and contrary to what is stated in that article, I don't think we'll be seeing the CTR till mid 2007. I'm going to be very disappointed if they get this wrong, but given that the S2000 is looking likely to go under the hammer with the NSX , and it may be the only only performance car showing the flag for Honda for a while, they'd be crazy not to get it right.!

Given the competition which will be about by the time we see it, a starting point of 20K is about right I reckon, if it's to deliver the goods.

I don't consider that to be an improvement.
MUCH prefer the current version.
(Although maybe if it was red )

It's funny how attitudes change though Fletch

I was sold on the CTR from the time I first drove it, although I didn't go a bundle on the looks. Now I've got used to it, I like it. Once this baby is on the road, particularly if it's delivering 240-250 bhp you wont care too much what it looks like !

I think the departure from the MPV look is probably good, although I'm sure there'll be a reduction in load capacity, which is one of the strong points of the existing model.

It's strongly rumoured there'll be a hydraulic steering system ... we'll see.

Sorry dont like it at all and for that money i would go else where SORRY honda if you go there you dropped a clanger.

Reasons: Front looks very much like the toyota prius and a mpv. The rear styling been nicked straight from merc C class with split screen.
240-250 going through front wheels is considered by most as the max, so not much joy for the modders.

Mind you i dont like the new civic either as ideas nicked from mercedes and it's general styling looks like a squashed down VW Sharon with matt black alloys.
It may drive well but in a car looks go a long way and theres only 2 hondas that are nice the S and new nsx replacement ( hsc or what ever its call ).

New alloys look good though.

Almost forgot most important bit common as muck as just seen 4 on way and at airport and associated with boyracers and soon chavs as the price of second handers is sure to come down.

FWD and 250bhp

I feel the current CTR is just about on the limit with 197bhp.

Looks bloody awful, have they copied the new Citreon C4? These pics are very similar to real spy pics that I saw a month ago in Autocar, so I do believe it will be a close resemblence.

Honda stupidly think that they will have a new found loyalty out there from all the existing Type R owners, but I think they are wrong. There are going to be too many cars for
