Next step after cleaning hood
Hi.
I've been doing some searching regarding cleaning the hood and gave the Raggtopp stuff a go.
It's done a good job of cleaning it and the hood now looks a little bit blacker, but can anyone suggest what i need to do to really get the black back looking brand new? or new'ish!
I've heard people say you can use the bumper stuff, but don't want to take any risks.
Thanks.

I would have suggested using the raggtop a go too, and as you already have then you have probably done as good a job as you can on the roof.
However, If you want to make it blacker, and the suggestion has been made to try one of the bumper stuff I would be very careful. Perhaps try it in a non-conspicuous area first, take it easy and check it an hour or two later see if the desired effect has been reached.
Black again will probably work short term, but once a vinyl roof is in a bad state no amount of products will bring it back I am afraid. As I say try Black Again or similar in a small area and see, if you are happy then you could use this once a fortnight or month to keep it looking good.

Totally agree with Simmo on this, I'd steer clear of the black stuff personally but it's your call, the only way to make your roof continute to look good is to protect it properly from day 1

autoglym bumper stuff works but use sparingly since it will run on paintwork otherwise. I used the renovo kit the last few times and it was very good - paint on sealer that gives it very new look.

You could give Poorboys Trim Restorer a go. It's clear so won't mark the paintwork and does an excellent job of removing marks. Additionally, it's not water based so should last a long time.
I used it a while ago on top of 303 and thought the results were spot on.

Thanks for the replies.
It was in a pretty poor state. There seems to be patches of tar'ey stuff here and there - probably due to a previous owner doing something they shouldn't?
It does look a damn sight better, so will probably give the Raggtopp another go in a couple of weeks.
A couple more questions ......
1) What does one use for cleaning the inside of the vinyl?
2) Is it a good idea to apply 303 on top of Raggtopp?
Cheers.
