Post No confidence in the handling

This could be one of those slap head - I knew it all along posts - but thought I would get some advice! My S2000 handles pretty pants...at motorway speeds I have no confidence at all and feel quite disconnected. The current state of play with the car is as follows:
  • Everything standard, bushes, suspension etc.
  • 4 new tyres <200 miles
Now this is a 17yr old car and the bushes are well and truly seized and have seized in these settings My current thoughts are that the tyres need to bed in a bit - but I think that ultimately I am looking at new shocks as they have gone soft and also to replace all bushes and get everything in line.

Recommendations?

Get yourself new front arms from here Japanese Parts | Subaru, Nissan, Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Mitsubishi

With the rears I am still pondering on either leaving seized stuff and getting adjustable toe arms and adjustable ball joints or removing arms and replacing bushes and bolts.

These front arms are fine btw, i track my car a lot and they have held up well, dont let the cheap price put you off.

Tyre pressures / Geo. If the Geo was last set on the old tyres, the new tyres have now got to wear in to the wonky Geo that you have. It's not going to feel the best.

If you're going to have the bushes off and done, may as well check and replace the shocks if needed at the same time.

A cheap S2000 is not always the bargain it might appear.

Been looking at these - where did you get the bolts from in the end?

The front compliance bushes have a life of 10 years / 80K miles or something like like that. It's possible that one or both is cracked or torn. That would have a bad effect on steering feel. Also, don't rely on MOT to pick it up. My previous S2000 had badly cracked compliance bushes and passed MOT no problem.

The cross-camber at the front plus the minimal castor will make it pretty horrible/wandery.

Only one solution and it involves a saw...

Assuming this just happened: What tires did you have on previously? Check your tire pressure. My car felt squirrelly when the tire pressure on one of the rears dropped due to a small leak. Once all 4 were back at 32psi the car felt fine.
