Default No Optimax!!!!

Yes that's right!!

Pulled into my local shell and to my astonishment ALL 6 optimax pumps were out of use! I must have looked like a right div driving up and down, round and round looking for that golden pump? Anyway I had to resort to filling with the conventional UL and my question is, will this have any long term effects on the engine if it is used occasionally?

It will probaby take a good 3 or 4 fill ups to get the evil stuff out of the cars system, so the octane level will gradually build up again over time.

Also if you leave the same petrol in the car for a long time, I have been told that the octane level can also reduce

Give the 'Question of Power' thread a read

Myself and a few others had a fairly big discussion on this
