Is it normal for the S2000 to loose just over a bar of oil in about 10 days?

When I checked it just over a week ago it was full.

Was the engine at the same temperature both times you checked?

If the car hasn't moved for 10 days - no

If it's done 200 miles+ I'd say perfectly normal.

Honda recommend you check the oil every week or every time you fill up.

How many miles have you travelled and on what sort of roafds/speeds in that time?

Yes it can be. Keep a bottle of top of oil in the boot and do tyres, oil, and fluids checks every 2-4 times you fill up (oil especially).

and I've found that using Castrol Magnatec (part synth) significantly reduces oil consumption.

I have no idea why - but it is very noticeable

I've topped it up this morning. I'll go fully synth on next service.
