Question Number plate lenses missing!

I was washing the S this afternoon when I noticed 2 big gaps where the rear number plate lenses used to be.

Could they have fallen off? Surely not. They must have been nicked by some little joker.

The fog light looks like it has been tempered with too as it is slightly out of line.

Any other ideas what could have caused this? No other damage to the car at all

You mean in the top where the light shines down from?

Always been just a hole there for me, no glass or plastic.

Yes. There are two holes there now.

This was the first time I washed it so I had not looked there before, but Chris assured me that they were there last weekend when he washed it.

Their removal to change the bulbs is even described in the manual.

That fog light has been slightly out of line since the day I bought the car...........

No idea about lens thingies, but I suspect one of you has been on the sauce.

Thanks Pete.

Chris is walking around saying: " I am sure there were some when I washed it, I would have noticed gaps like that". Then he repeats it.

So I am totally confused now, although slightly reassured.

Why is there a description on how to remove them, in the owner's manual? This does not make sense if nobody has them, does it?
