Default number plate problems HELP

This is going to sound really stupid so here goes...

I sold my private plate on here a week or so back, I got all the documentation together to send away to the buyer, I asked a member of the family to take it to the post office for me as i dont have time as i work, they took it for me but they have lost the reciept everything has been upside down recently as we have a a close member of the family pass away, now heres the problem the buyer is saying he hasnt recieved it still and im getting really worried as i wont be able to track the damn thing down now the reciept has gone, does anyone know if I contact the dvla they will be able to re issue the certificate to me and at least then i havent lost money/certificate?

Help

Your best bet is to call them, if its on retention then it would be under your name and address, if its still attached to a car then it will be on your V5C.

http://dvlaregistrations.direct.gov.uk/

There is a FAQ on the site, would be worth looking at.

Just FYI, a certificate of postage would not help you track a lost letter/parcel - it just shows that you posted the item/items

You would need to send it "Recorded Signed For" or "Special Delivery" to enable that
