Numpty a$$ number plate question

OK guys Dreamer has asked me to change her number plate over on the car. The new number plate is undrilled and I can sort that. My question is how do you take a number plate off a car.

Are they screwed on? Are the srcews hidden beneath the caps or are they not caps and actual plastic type rivet like things?

I did say it was a numpty question.

My plates are bolted on, some are screwed on and some are stuck on.

Probably screws under there.

I think the preferred method of fixing is to get some number plate fixing tape from Halfords.

My plate is held onto the mount with spongey sticky tape.

Try and gently prise it up Chris. You should be able to see if it's stuck or not with adhesive. If so, just keep pulling.

If screwed on......stop pulling. :D

Hammer and bolster should do the job

:anorakon:

1) If it has a slot or cross in a plastic head protruding from the plate it is probably bolted on with a plastic nut.

2) If it is a dome shape sticking out it is a cap hiding a normal screw.

3) If nothing sticks out from the plate is is taped or clipped in a frame!

:anorakoff:

;)

I guess a couple of pics will probably get your question answered :D

stick the new one on with Number plate fixer stickers from Hellfords, much cleaner than screws :)

Cheers for the help guys - I shall attempt to fix it tomorrow morning and no doubt attatch it upside down :)
