Hi mate, I got a mate to do it today.
I got consistent readings across all four cylinders (just below 200) but I just had a quick read up and your supposed to hold the gas pedal down while turning the engine?
He didn't do this, would it matter? Or am I ok anyway because I got consistent readings?

Many thanks,
Aydon.

Yes, cold engine (more consistent, since you know a cold engine won't warm up but a hot engine will cool down) and WOT with either the fuel pump fuse out or the injectors unplugged.

Try it again if you can under those conditions and you'll find the numbers higher, however; as others have said, it is results within 10% of each other that you're normally looking for, so I don't think it's your head gasket.

Thanks pal, thanks for offering your helping hand. I think ill wait till I'm not so skint next month and ill buy my own compression test kit and do it myself, I kinda wish I brought it to you now instead of giving my mate £20 lol. Oh well I guess as you say they are consistent so should be fine. Good to know there is another s2k owner near by though, we'll have to meet up some time mate.
